GEO-MEMORIES #3

2019, Venezia

The Geo-memories #3 series is the continuation of my research about photographing the multidimensionality of spaces, including the notions of distance and duration in the process.

For these new series, I focussed on the relation between water and architecture in Venice.

As in Geo-memories #1 and #2, my role as an artist is less the one of a director than of a catalyst between the space's impact on my memory and the resulting photographs.

GEO-MEMORIES #2

2019, Paris

The Geo-memories series are the continuation of my research about photographing the multidimensionality of spaces.

For this new series, I photographed some iconic locations in Paris and let myself guided by my physical relation to the place. It is more the situation than myself that defined the multiples angles and exposures, as well as the path I walked to explore the whole setting.

Here again, as in Geo-memories #1, my role as an artist is less the one of a director than of a catalyst between the space impact on my memory and the resulting photograph.

GEO-MEMORIES #1

2018, Thailand & Japan

For this series, the time dimension has become central and is combined with physical distance. Each final image is the result of a walk or ride through a landscape, along a distance varying from 100 meters to several kilometres.

The space is photographed based on its specific impact on my memory. The notion of memory decay is also taken in account when photographing, giving to the landscape a major role in the final output.

My role as an artist is less the one of a director than of a catalyst between the space and its photographic representation.
